It is reported that in the U.S.the Regulators are so powerful and so tough that the numerous T.V. Stations are very careful about what they put out in the name of attracting eyeballs.It is reported that European stations are similarly regulated.But in India the up coming global giant in everything from pin to piano,the Regulator is never anywhere around.People do not even know who the Regulator is and where his office is located or if he exists at all.So,we have rubbish being relayed in the Soaps that are shown on the Hindi channels.The characters die and then are reborn and they marry any number of times.Women are mostly not shown as people with good character.They, as a class or one at least,is always shown with a negative and destructive personality.Jealously is the foremost emotion in all the homes of the families depicted who live in opulance,In homes that are foreign to most Indians.The women are decked in jewellery,even in bed.In the work of one of the production houses there is a continuous battle taking place.It appears the surplus stocks of bullets and guns of the last war have been purchased by this production house and every single second this battle is on with a fury A sound of bombardment between two opposing forces Simply put, highest levels of unbearable noise to destroy the ear drums of viewers,As my friend Bob commented,Viv ,these people were not born when Radio was at its peak.We had beautiful radio plays and the sound effects were so good that one could feel the emotions that were going in the minds of the characters on stage..Sound effects were of such a high order The best one was that of silence.The present guys know nothing of the subject.They seem to come may be from Nandigram or some such place from Bengal.The cause of all the noise is the bad combination of the production, and the sound effects departments.If these do not properly co ordinate one gets cacaphonyThe same applies to the issue of the weak story line.This again is born of the fact that the same individuals appear to be writing the story, but with slight variations and selling them to the several houses in the field. This virus of noise which was associated with a single station is now spreading to more probably because the same persons’ services ,who handles the sound effects, are being utilised.Good music is not being used as background effect,maybe because it is expensive.Noise is cheap, just beat up a couple of barrels.That best sums up our television channels and the soap opera that surround them.(Comments)
The Economic Times;Sunday,25th November, tells us that we can get a P.C for 5k,A DVD for 2k, A Sachhet of some soap for a Re,and a host of goodies for little or nothing.However in the same period the homes and houses which were being built for AM ADMI have become available only to the super rich, who it is reported are again investing in Real Estate,something like happened a few years ago.This calls for some study by the Income tax departmert or the R.B.I The latest price in Mumbai for a single room bhk is 400k, and 600k for 2bhk For a 3 bhk it is 1.80k and rates are dependant on the locality and area of the flats and the floor.For some consolation the report states NBH is launching houses for 100k.When or Where ,is not mentioned.Actually there is news that the Railways are going to offer their sheds for hire,Till such time as the NBH houses come up and if they do in Bombay,Sorry Mumbai,this may be the best alternate to store up all the goodies?We were told that ours was a democratic Socialist Republic,Somewhere along the way the Socialist part got jettisioned and since it made no difference to our people at large our Legislators have not thought it fit to remove this “S”word from the Constitution (Comments)
MINORITIES:In this country it appears the word covers only one Community,as this is the only one that has clout i.e. the vote-bank. The word does not cover all minorities,especially Christians. since they do not have a vote bank.Therefore it is necessary for Christians to study where they are a balancing factor and use it wisely to their advantage.For instance in Mumbai,Christians tribals are thrashed regularly and when they seek protection, they, the victim, are booked and charged as disturbers of the peace,as in Thane district.It is reported the people who beat up the christians belong to the R.S.S In the Bible there is a statement that Jesus had a number of secret followers from among the Jewish community.Similarly there are among the present Congress Ministers in Maharastra several who are secret believers in the doctrine of Shri Golwalkar, therefore they allow this nonsense. to go on.All over the country this is a regular affair and the G.O.I. takes no actions.Films depict christians in poor light.Doctrine is mocked,yet the Censor Board passes these films with some disclaimer.Why is there no Christian on the central Censor Board.Of course, a certain minority is safe from this type of attack because of the “Vote- Bank”politics?When the Constitution was being written our Christian Leaders such as Fr J. D’Souza,Mr Ratnaswamy etc gave up the demand for Reserved constituenties for Christians. They believed the majority Party,i.e.the Congress Party would protect the interests of the christians.The result was the drafting of the first Freedom of Religion Bill by this Party.It was followed by a second by them and now they have come out with the latest in the State of H.P. In India ,for the information of the world wide community,we have universal suffferage i,e,the right to a vote,if one has received a voters I.D,but this same individual ,as somebody once wrote,has no right to choose his God.A Government Official has to decide this for him.It is time our present leaders who are Members of the National Council, resign and a National Conference of all Indian Christians is held to focus on our situation.We do not get representation in State Assemblies,in Parliament,in Govt Jobs,on the Boards of Public Sector Undertakings,Our Priests are beaten up.Our Nuns are jailed,and we are the targets of the R.S.S.and their allied organizations and we do not get protection .It is time to review our relations with the Congress Party and find an alternate It may be best to stop voting or give a negative vote ,till we receive our proper share in the fruits of national development and our safety is assured by removal of all such bills that deny our rights to profess and practice and make our own decisions on which God to worship.We will however continue with our present policy of being what Jesus said, peaceful and non-violent.in the agitations planned.Gandhiji only repeated what had already been said by the Master.In Mumbai the attack was long planned First the farm land of the local christians was taken away from them for building the Airport.Then their farms in the Bandra Kurla Complex Area were taken for allegedly National purposes,but in fact to hand the land over to Builders and Capitalists and to profiteer.None of this money has been given back to the community?.Now its the turn of snatching the land in Gorai.The Local Christians are to be uprooted.These are the children of folks who have lived here for centuries. Long before Maharastrians from the mainland came over to Bombay.It is no joking matter for our people.We have to focus on these injustices and find the right answers or else we shall be sunk.The Maharastra Congress Party is anti-christian .We have not had a Minister for two decades now.We have just one member in the Assembly.We have no proper representation in the B.M.C.The goathans are under attack,surrounded by illegalities and Builders.These are just a few of the problems.An Assembly of our People to discuss all Problems will be most useful and we can then find out why our Leaders are not able to focus on issues, Maybe the people are to blame because of their inability to find the time to concentrate on these themselves.Are we in deep slumber under a false sense of security?Or are we waiting for Fatwas from our Priests on solely Civil issues.Is it not better our Priests concentrate on affairs connected to God?.Lets decide this once and for all.Lets Awake,Arise,and Organize.

Maharastra:Can the State or Municipalities be broken up for better Administration?
Recently Mr Munde,the State important BJP Leader suggested that Vidarbha,which is part of Maharastra,should become an independant State.The idea is very good,but the Party,with whom his party has a coalition is very allergic to any splitting of any part of Maharastra, especially Mumbai, may not be too happy with the suggestion.Actually all big States in the country need to be made into smaller Units for better administration.For instance Mumbai can do away with the B.M.C.,if it has an independant status.Presently there are too many Agencies looking after its administration and in many cases there is overlapping.In the seventies it was Mr S.K.Patil,who initiated the thought of an independant Bombay.His idea was shot down for other reasons as he was too powerful and the High Command was afraid he would become the first Maharastrian P.M.It is time his suggestion is again considered as Mumbai can hardly continue in the laggardly manner it is being administered presently.Without breaking away from Maharastra,a way has to be found for better administration.One way is for a beginning to split up the B.M.C into as many units as there are Lok Sabha constituencies..In this way the people will be directly involved in ensuring that their areas are clean and they can easily keep a tag on the working of the small units.With computorisation there will be lesser need of unweildy structures and staff.Lets at least commence a discussion on the subject in the interests of all of us?
